Anyway
It is not very often that I just post something for me but last week while I was watching American Idol (yes, I watch American Idol) one of the contestants sang Martina McBride's song Anyway. It really struck a chord with me for some reason. I have been thinking about it ever since and tonight I decided to see if I could find it on youtube. I have sat here listening to it over and over, crying. One of those good cries. I think my favorite part is the chorus:
God is great, but sometimes life ain't good.

I love that she sang this the week after the tornadoes hit her town. And I love that there are artists in the world still who believe. Contrast this to the AI Lady Gaga performance last night and it's hard to imagine people really choose one over the other, no matter how "catchy" it is. :-) I'm glad a country singer won Idol this year.
